본 연구에서는 아동의 성별, 모-자 관계 표상 및 문제행동이 상담 초기단계에서 아동과 상담자가 지각한 치료적 관계와 어떤 관련이 있는지 알아보았다. 정서, 행동 및 사회성과 관련한 문제로 개인상담을 받고 있는 상담 초기단계(2～10회기)의 4, 5, 6학년 아동상담사례를 수집하였다. 모-자 관계 표상은 아동이 평가하였고, 아동의 문제행동은 아동과 어머니가 각각 평가하였으며, 치료적 관계는 아동과 상담자가 각각 평가하였다. 아동의 모-자 관계 표상과 치료적 관계에 대한 평가는 서로 영향을 받지 않도록 전후 회기에 나뉘어 실시되었다. 아동내담자-어머니-상담자 51조의 자료가 분석에 사용되었다. 아동의 경우, 모-자 관계 표상이 부정적일수록 상담자와의 관계에서 긍정적인 감정을 덜 느끼고, 아동 스스로 문제행동의 정도가 심각하다고 볼수록(특히, 외현화 문제가 많다고 보고할 때) 자신이 상담에 더 협력적이라고 보고하였다. 상담자는 여아가 남아 보다, 그리고 아동 스스로 외현화 문제가 많다고 보고할수록 상담에 더 협력적이라고 지각하였다. 어머니가 지각한 아동의 문제행동의 정도 및 외현화와 내재화 문제는 아동과 상담자가 지각한 치료적 관계와 관련이 없었다.
This study aimed to investigate how children's gender, maternal representation, and behavior problems affect the therapeutic relationship perceived by both children and therapists in the early stage of counseling. Fifty-one sets of child client - his/her mother - therapist were analyzed. As for children, the more negative their maternal representation was, the less likely they revealed positive feelingstoward their therapists. The children reporting more severe behavior problems were more cooperative in counseling. The therapists reported that female children were more cooperative in counseling than their male counterpart,and that the children reporting more externalizing behavior problems were more cooperative. The severity of the children's behavior problemsperceived by their mother had no significant effect on the therapeutic relationship perceived by children and therapists.
