본 연구는 우리나라 청소년이 지각한 어머니의 과보호적 양육태도를 측정하는 과보호 척도를 개발하고 신뢰도와 타당도를 검증하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위하여 먼저 청소년들이 지각하는 어머니의 과보호적 양육태도 양상을 알아보기 위해 중, 고등학생 100명에게 개방형 질문지 형식으로 예비조사를 실시하였다. 이러한 예비조사 결과를 분류하여 예비척도의 일부문항을 구성하고, 기존의 양육태도 질문지 중에서 과보호와 관련된 문항들을 일부 활용하였으며, 문헌고찰과 사례 연구들을 토대로 본 연구자가 개발한 문항들을 추가하여 이를 전부 종합한 후 전문가들의 내용 타당도 검증을 거쳐 총 107문항의 예비척도를 제작하였다. 이 척도를 가지고 서울과 경기지역에 재학하고 있는 중, 고등학생 500명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하여 탐색적 요인분석을 한 결과, 과보호의 구성요인으로 과잉기대, 자율성 저해. 과잉통제, 과잉보호 및 불안, 과잉애정의 5개 요인이 도출되었다. 각 요인별로 5개 문항씩 최종 25개 문항으로 과보호 척도를 완성하였다. 척도의 5개 요인구조가 적합한지를 확인하기 위해 확인적 요인 분석을 실시한 결과 척도의 타당성과 안정성이 확인되었으며, 신뢰도 분석결과 만족할 만한 신뢰도를 보이고 있다.
The purpose of this study was to develop a new overprotection scale that measures the degree of Korean mothers' overprotective attitudes in raising their teenage children, and to verify the reliability and validity of the scale. A preparatory scale of 107 questions was first produced and then applied to 500 middle and high school students. Exploratory factor analysis revealed five factors of overprotection which are listed as follows; excessive expectation, obstruction of autonomy, excessive control, overprotection and anxiety, and excessive affection. A final list of 25 questions, with 5 questions for each factor, were selected to complete the overprotection scale. Confirmatory factor analysis verified the scale's validity and reliability. Finally, the implications and limitations were discussed.
