본 연구는 고등학생이 지각한 부정적인 부모 양육태도와 차폐가 인터넷 중독에 미치는 영향에 대해 알아보고자 하였다. 경기도 지역 고등학생 272명(남: 120명, 여: 152명)을 대상으로 한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 남학생이 여학생보다 인터넷 중독 수준이 유의미하게 높았다. 둘째, 차폐는 아버지의 부정적 양육태도와는 유의미한 상관관계가 없었으나 어머니의 부정적 양육태도와는 유의미한 정적 상관관계를 나타냈다. 또한 차폐는 인터넷 중독과 유의미한 정적 상관을 보였다. 셋째, 부모의 양육태도와 차폐가 인터넷 중독에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위해 단계적 회귀분석을 실시한 결과, 아버지의 부정적 양육태도는 인터넷 중독을 14% 유의하게 설명하였고 차폐를 포함시키면 전체 변량의 19%를 설명하였다. 어머니의 부정적 양육태도는 인터넷 중독을 11% 유의하게 설명하였고 차폐가 포함되면 전체 변량의 16%를 설명하였다. 즉 부정적 양육태도가 인터넷 중독을 유의하게 설명하고 있지만 차폐가 높을수록 인터넷 중독 수준은 증가하고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 끝으로 본 연구의 의의와 제한점을 덧붙였다.
This paper examines the effects of the perceived negative parental attitude and masking to internet addiction for highschool-aged adolescents. After surveying 272 adolescents at a highschool in Gyeonggi-do region, following conclusions were made: First, the level of Internet addiction was significantly higher among male students than female students. Second, the relationship between masking and perceived negative parental attitude was significant when the students were asked about their mothers. Third, negative parental attitude of fathers accounted for 14% of internet addiction in stepwise regression analysis to quantify the effect of parental attitude and masking on internet addiction. Negative parental attitude of fathers accounted for 19% of the whole variance when masking was considered. Negative parental attitude of mothers accounted for 11% of internet addiction-it could account for 16% of it when masking was taken into account.
