본 연구의 목적은 Morales와 Crick(1998)이 개발한 관계적 공격성을 한국어로 번안 및 타당화 하는 것이다. 관계적 공격성은 관계손상을 목적으로 이루어지는 공격성이다. 이를 위해 4년제 대학생 313명(남: 113명, 여: 200명)을 대상으로 구인타당도 및 공인타당도를 검증하였다. 구인타당도는 탐색적 요인분석 및 확인적 요인분석을 통해 확인하였고, 공인타당도는 공격성, 분노, 우울 및 자아존중감과의 상관분석을 통해 확인하였다. 또한 관계적 공격성이 남녀 간에 차이가 있는지 알아보기 위해 잠재평균분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과, 첫째, 관계적 공격성 척도는 목표성취를 위한 주도적 관계적 공격성 3문항, 지각된 위협에 대한 반응으로 나타나는 반응적 관계적 공격성 4문항, 연인관계에서의 애정적 관계적 공격성 3문항의 총 10문항으로 원척도와 같은 3요인으로 구성되었고, 신뢰도는 .55에서 .74로 나타났다. 둘째, 관계적 공격성 척도는 공격성, 분노, 우울과 유의한 정적상관, 자아존중감과 유의한 부적상관을 보여 공인타당도를 충족하는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 관계적 공격성은 남녀 간에 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났는데 여자 대학생이 남자 대학생 보다 반응적 관계적 공격성, 애정적 관계적 공격성이 더 높은 것으로 나타났다. 끝으로 본 연구의 의의 및 제한점, 후속연구의 방향에 대해 논의하였다.
Relational aggression is defined as behavior that causes relational harm. This study aimed to validate the Korean version of the Relational Aggression Scale developed by Morales & Crick (1998). To this aim, 313 undergraduate students were examined for construct validity through exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis, and concurrent validity through correlation analysis. Gender related differences were identified using latent mean analysis. The relational aggression scale is comprised of 10 items, categorized into three subscales including three items on proactive relational aggression towards a goal-directed end, four items on reactive relational aggression displayed in response to a perceived threat, and three items on romantic relational aggression. The reliability was .55 to .74. The Relational Aggression Scale fulfilled concurrent validity criteria by showing positive correlation with aggression, anger and depression, and negative correlation with self-esteem. Female students demonstrated higher relational aggression than male students, especially with reactive and romantic relational aggression.
