본 연구는 아동청소년기 대인 외상적 폭력을 경험한 대학생들의 대학입학 후 드러난 심리적 어려움과 적응의 과정을 탐색하기 위한 목적에서 실시되었다. 이를 위해, 아동청소년기 대인 외상적 폭력을 경험한 대학생 12명을 심층인터뷰 하여 모아진 자료를 근거이론을 통해 분석하였다. 그 결과 총 157개의 개념과 56개의 하위 범주, 26개의 상위범주가 도출되었다. 과정분석의 결과에서는 대인 외상적 폭력을 경험한 대학생들의 적응의 과정이 총 6단계로 ‘시험 단계’, ‘모델링 단계’, ‘도약 단계’, ‘확신 단계’, ‘경계설정 단계’, ‘상호성 단계’를 거치는 것으로 나타났다. 마지막 유형분석의 결과에서는 중재 조건에 해당하는 ‘새로운 환경의 적응 능력’의 차원과 작용/상호작용 전략 조건에 해당하는 ‘내적/외적 시도’의 차원을 두 축으로 총 네 가지 유형인 ‘내적성찰 극복형’, ‘외적관계 극복형’, ‘내적성찰 정체형’, ‘외적관계 정체형’을 도출하였다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 선행연구와의 비교 분석을 제시하고, 새롭게 발견된 점, 이후 지속해야 할 연구 주제 및 임상현장에서 유의해야 할 점 등을 논의하였다.
The purpose of this study was to analyze the psychological difficulties and adaptation process of college students who had experienced interpersonal traumatic violence during childhood or adolescence. In depth interviews were conducted with 12 college students and grounded theory was used to analyze the data. From the analysis, 157 concepts, 56 sub categories, and 26 essential categories were derived. The results of the process analysis indicated that the process of adaptation of college students who have experienced interpersonal traumatic violence is composed of six steps. The results of the last type analysis show 4 types. Novel processes and concept consistency with prior research, directions for future research, and implication for clinical practice are presented.
