본 연구는 자기비난 경향이 있는 대학생을 대상으로 인지적 재구성 처치가 자기비난, 우울, 불안, 부정적 자동적 사고와 긍정적 자동적 사고, 내면화된 수치심에 미치는 효과를 알아보기 위해 수행되었다. 연구 대상은 대구경북 소재의 대학교에서 게시판과 인터넷 공고를 통해 모집한 학생들에게 자기비난 척도를 실시하여 자기비난 점수가 20점 이상인 40명을 대상으로 하였다. 이들은 실험집단과 대기통제집단에 무선할당 되었으며, 실험집단에게는 인지적재구성 교육 후에 1주일간 인지적 재구성 처치를 적용하고 대기통제집단에게는 아무런 처치도 하지 않았다. 이후 대기통제집단은 실험집단과 똑같은 절차로 인지적 재구성 처치를 받았다. 연구결과, 실험집단은 통제 집단보다 사후 및 추후 자기보고 측정치에서 자기비난, 우울, 불안, 부정적 자동적 사고, 내면화된 수치심은 감소하고, 긍정적 자동적 사고는 증가한 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구 결과는 인지적 재구성 처치가 자기비난 경향이 있는 대상에게 효과적인 개입방법이 될 수 있다는 것을 시사하며, 이러한 연구결과에 대해 논의하였다.
The purpose of this study was to examine whether Cognitive Restructuring affects self-criticism, automatic thought, anxiety, depression, and internal shame. Participants were 40 students, recruited through paper or internet bulletins, who had self-criticism scores of 20 or higher on the self-criticism scale. Participants were randomly assigned to one of two groups using a wait list control group design. The experimental group received cognitive restructuring treatment for one week, while the control group received no treatment. The control group then received cognitive restructuring treatment using the same procedure as the experimental group. Participants in the experimental group displayed greater decreases in self-criticism, automatic negative thoughts, depression, anxiety, and internal shame, and greater increases in positive automatic thoughts than the control group. The results of this study suggest that cognitive restructuring may be an effective intervention for individuals with elevated levels of self-criticism.
