본 연구는 이성애 이외의 성적 지향을 지닌 국내 성소수자들이 성적 지향 마이크로어그레션(microaggression)을 경험하는 빈도를 측정하기 위하여, Woodford, Chonody, Kulick, Brennan과 Renn(2015)의 대학 내 LGBQ 마이크로어그레션 척도(LGBQ Microaggressions on Campus Scale; LGBQ-MCS)를 한국판으로 타당화하는 것을 목표로 했다. 문항분석을 통과한 26개의 문항을 대상으로 탐색적 요인분석을 실시하여, 원척도와 달리 일반적․개인적․환경적 마이크로어그레션으로 구분되는 3요인 모형이 적합하다는 결과를 얻을 수 있었다. 탐색적 요인분석 결과를 토대로 고차 확인적 요인분석을 실시하여, 문항들이 각 하위 요인을 측정하고 있으며 세 하위 요인이 더 높은 수준의 이차 요인인 마이크로어그레션을 측정하고 있음도 확인하였다. 최종적으로 K-SOMS는 24개의 문항으로 구성되었으며 내적합치도(Cronbach’s α)는 .92로 나타났다. 마지막으로 준거 관련 타당도를 확인하기 위해 상관분석을 실시한 결과, 마이크로어그레션 경험 빈도는 일반적 소속감과 부적 상관을 지니는 반면에 우울 증상, 수용 걱정, 반동성애폭력과는 정적 상관을 지니고 있었다. 나아가 본 연구의 의의, 한계, 제언에 대해 논의하였다.
The purpose of this study was to validate the Korean version of the Sexual Orientation Microaggressions Scale(K-SOMS). The validation employed item translation, item analysis, and exploratory factor analysis with a sample of 360 individuals who self-identified as non-heterosexual. The results supported a three-factor structure with general, personal, and environmental microaggressions as subfactors. Next, item analysis and higher order confirmatory factor analysis were conducted using a separate sample of 361 individuals. These analyses confirmed that the fit of the 3-factor model. Reliability, convergent validity and discriminant validity of the K-SOMS were assessed using Cronbach’s α, standardized factor loadings and correlations between subfactors. Concurrent validity was examined by correlations between the K-SOMS and associated scales. The results indicated good psychometric properties and suggest that the K-SOMS is a useful tool for deepening the understanding of Korean sexual minorities’ discrimination experiences in future research.
