본 연구는 대학생을 대상으로 부모화와 자아분화에 따라 어떤 군집이 존재하는지를 확인하고 각 군집의 특성을 밝히는 데에 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 서울·경기, 전북, 대전·충청 소재의 대학생 484명을 대상으로 부모화 척도와 자아분화 척도, 대학생활적응 척도를 통해 자료를 수집하였으며, 군집분석, 교차분석, 일원분산분석, 사후검정을 실시하여 분석하였다. 그 결과, 부모화와 자아분화에 따라 서로 다른 특성을 지닌 4개의 군집이 도출되었다. 군집1은 부모화가 모두 높고 자아분화가 모두 낮은 ‘고부모화-저분화형’, 군집2는 부모화가 모두 낮고 자아분화가 모두 높은 ‘저부모화-고분화형’, 군집3은 부모화와 자아분화 모두 평균수준인 ‘평균부모화-평균분화형’, 군집4는 정서적 부모화, 불공평, 자아통합은 높고 정서적 단절과 가족퇴행은 낮은 ‘파괴적 정서적 부모화-퇴행·단절형’이며, 각 군집들은 출생순위, 과거 가정형편, 현재 가정형편, 가족형태, 대학생활적응에서 유의미한 차이를 보였다. 이후 연구 결과를 바탕으로 대학 상담 현장과 대학생 내담자를 위한 상담 개입에 대한 시사점을 논의하였고, 추후 연구에 대해 제언하였다.
The purpose of this study was to classify and identify the characteristics of parentification and self-differentiation of college student. A survey was conducted with 484 college students, and two-stage cluster analysis, cross tabulation analysis, one-way ANOVA, and a posteriori test were carried out. Cluster 1 was termed the ‘high parentification-low differentiation’, Cluster 2 was termed the ‘low parentification-high differentiation’, Cluster 3 was termed the ‘average parentification-average differentiation’, Cluster 4 was termed the ‘destructive emotional parentification-regression·cut off’. Significant differences were revealed from examining the differences between clusters based on birth order, past family type, current family type, family form, and college life adaptation. This study suggests the necessity of research on parentification and self-differentiation in the study of college students, and the need for differential diagnosis and discrimination in college counseling by classifying clusters for actual college students. Lastly, limitations and suggestions for follow-up study are discussed.
