본 연구는 기존에 양극적 평정방식으로 연구되어왔던 전문적 도움 추구 태도를 의미변별 형용사척도로 측정하여 양가 태도 집단이 존재하는지 확인하고 자기 은폐, 체면 손상과의 관련성을 탐색하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위하여 측정된 자료를 이 단계 군집 분석을 실시하여 4개의 집단으로 구분하였다. 구분된 집단은 의미변별 형용사척도의 하위요인의 수준에 따라 상담 선호 집단, 상담 긍정 태도 집단, 양가 태도 집단, 태도 미형성 집단으로 명명했다. 각 집단 간 특성을 비교하기 위하여 분산분석을 통해 전문적 도움 추구 태도인 ATSPPH, 의미변별 형용사 척도를 사용해 계산한 양가 태도, 자기 은폐, 체면 손상, 전문적 도움 추구 의도의 집단 간 차이를 검증하였다. 그 결과 전문적 도움 추구 태도와 관련해 비일관적인 관계가 보고되었던 자기 은폐, 체면 손상이 군집 간, 특히 양가 태도 집단과 다른 태도 집단 간 차이가 있음을 확인하였다. 전문적 도움 추구 의도 역시 집단 간 차이가 나타났으며, 선호 집단이 양가 태도 집단보다 높은 전문적 도움 추구 의도를 보였다. 마지막으로 본 연구의 의의와 제한점을 논의하였다.
This study explored whether an ambivalent attitude group exists when it comes to professional help-seeking attitude by measuring the attitude with the split semantic differential scale, and examined the group's relation to self-concealment and loss of face. A two-step cluster analysis identified four groups based on levels of openness, stigma, trust, and distrust: a preference group, a positive group, an ambivalent group, and an unformed attitude group. ANOVA was used to compare the characteristics of the clusters, including ATSPPH, self-concealment, loss of face, and professional help-seeking intent. We found significant group differences in all four variables. The levels of self-concealment and loss of face varied between groups, particularly between the ambivalent attitude group and the other groups. The professional help-seeking intent differed between groups as well: the positive group showed a higher intent to seek professional help than the ambivalent attitude group. Finally, the study’s implications and limitations were discussed.
