본 연구는 이성교제 갈등을 경험한 성인 초기 남녀 대학생의 상담을 통한 심리내적 변화 과정을 분석해 보고, 불안정한 심리내면의 상태가 어떻게 안정된 상태로 변화하는지에 대한 과정을 드러내는 실체 이론을 개발하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 이성교제 갈등으로 상담을 받은 경험이 있는 10명의 참여자를 선정해 인터뷰하였고, 수집된 자료를 질적 연구 방법인 근거이론을 통해 분석하였다. 그 결과 총 82개의 개념과 31개의 하위개념, 13개의 상위개념이 도출되었다. 이 개념들을 중심으로 패러다임 분석을 실시하였으며, 상담을 통한 심리내적 변화 과정은 불안정, 탐색, 새로운 관계 경험, 저항, 의식의 확장, 안정으로 총 여섯 단계로 해석되었다. 더불어, 핵심범주는 ‘취약한 자기를 발견함으로 고통 중에 새로운 자기를 성장시켜 나아감’이었다. 이 과정에서 이성교제 갈등을 통해 드러난 취약한 과거의 내적 작동 모델이 새로운 관계 경험을 통해 새로운 내적 작동 모델로의 변화 과정을 갖게 된 것을 3단계 모델로 논의하였다. 또한 상담 및 임상 현장에서 상담자가 어떻게 효과적인 도움을 줄 수 있는지를 함께 논의하였다.
The purpose of this study is to analyze intrapsychic changing process of the early adult men and women who have experienced counseling for overcoming romantic relationship conflict and to develop a substantive theory suitable for explaining the changing process of intrapsychic structure. The ten participants were selected who have served in the counseling center. The data were collected through interviews and analyzed according to the grounded theory method. As a result, 82 concepts, 31 sub-concepts, 13 top-concepts were categorized. The process analysis shows that the changing process of intrapsychic structure involves six stages, i.e. instability, exploration, new experience, resistance, expansion of consciousness, stability. The core component of the changing process was ‘Finding a vulnerable self and Growing into new self’. Finally, the three-phase model and implication in counseling are discussed.
