본 연구는 정서적 학대가 아동의 외현적 및 관계적 공격성에 미치는 영향과 거부민감성의 매개효과를 검증하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 초등학교 5. 6학년 565명을 대상으로 자료를 수집하여 t검증, 상관분석, 경로분석을 실시하였다. 그 결과 관계적 공격성을 제외한 주요 변인들에서 성차가 나타났다. 정서적 학대와 외현적 공격성은 남학생이 여학생보다 유의하게 높게 나타난 반면 거부민감성은 여학생이 더 높은 것으로 나타났다. 다음으로 주요 변인들 간의 상관분석 결과, 남학생의 정서적 학대와 외현적 공격성 및 관계적 공격성간의 상관이 높게 나타났다. 정서적 학대와 외현적 공격성의 관계에서 거부민감성의 하위요인인 거부불안민감성, 거부분노민감성, 거부우울민감성의 매개효과를 검증한 결과, 남녀 모두 거부분노민감성만이 부분매개하였다. 정서적 학대와 관계적 공격성의 관계에서 거부민감성의 하위요인들의 매개효과를 검증한 결과, 남학생의 경우에는 거부불안민감성과 거부분노민감성이 부분매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 특히, 거부불안민감성은 관계적 공격성을 억제하는 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 여학생의 경우에는 거부민감성의 하위요인들이 정서적 학대와 관계적 공격성간의 관계를 매개하지 않았다. 이러한 결과는 정서적 학대를 경험한 아동들의 공격성을 낮추기 위해서는 거부민감성을 감소시키는 것이 중요하다는 것을 시사한다. 특히, 거부민감성 중에서도 거부분노민감성 감소를 위한 구체적 방안이 필요하겠다.
This study was to examine the effect of emotional abuse on children’s overt and relational aggression and the mediation effect of rejection sensitivity (RS). A data of 565 5th and 6th grade students was analyzed. The results were as follows. The gender differences appeared in the major variables except for the relational aggression. While boys’ emotional abuse and overt aggression were significantly higher than girls, RS was significantly higher in girls. Significant correlations were found among emotional abuse, overt and relational aggression and RS. Among the three RS forms including anxiety, angry, and depression, only angry RS partially mediated a relationship between emotional abuse and overt aggression in both boys and girls. In the relationship between emotional abuse and relational aggression, angry and anxiety RS had significant mediation effects where anxiety RS inhibited boys’ relational aggression. No mediation effect was found for girls between emotional abuse and relational aggression.
