Abstract

Current status of the Korean Library Association (KLA) and examining domestic and international cases to propose improvements to membership systems and strategies for expanding member benefits. To achieve this, the study conducted surveys on the status of KLA, gathered opinions from members, and analyzed previous research, alongside an analysis of international cases. This revealed the importance of core activities, the diversification of member types, differentiated membership fees and benefits, and strategies to enhance member participation. As a result, this study suggests strategies for enhancing the rights of KLA members and improving the membership system, including diversifying member types and fees, differentiating benefits according to member types, and enhancing the member management system. Additionally, strategies for expanding member rights include developing customized benefits, advocating for member rights protection, and strengthening member activities. These strategies are expected to help KLA meet the diverse needs of its members, build closer relationships, and foster more active and meaningful association activities.
