The characteristic of the Oriental culture is different form the Western culture in various aspects. The Western culture is based on horizontal-individualism but the Oriental culture, especially the Korean culture is grounded on vertical collectivism. The purpose of this study is to provide a suitable counseling model to our culture: Reality Dynamic Counseling. For that purpose, several influential counseling approaches are examined to find out why these make trouble with the Korean. A counselor places emphasis on a client's will as well as thought and emotion in this Reality Dynamic Counseling. To do that a counselor has to be skillful to confront a client with his problem. Moreover, it is contented that the counselor should assume the attitude of an elder(teacher) in attempting this approach. The ideal attitude of an elder in this approach can be taken out from a stern father and an affectionate mother who have been our ideal parents traditionally.
