본 연구의 목적은 재한 중국인 상담전공자들이 상담전공 학위과정을 포함한 수련경험과 그 경험의 의미가 무엇인지 심층적으로 이해하는 데 있다. 연구 목적에 맞는 연구 대상을 선정하기 위해 의도적 표집을 활용하였고, 최종적으로 조선족 중국인 상담전공자 4명과 다른 민족(비조선족) 중국인 상담전공자 7명 총 11명을 대상으로 일대일 심층면담을 진행하였다. 참여자와의 심층면담 자료를 전사한 텍스트를 Giorgi의 현상학적 연구방법을 적용하여 분석하였고, 최종적으로 5개의 영역과 15개의 구성요소, 29개의 하위 구성요소를 도출하였다. 영역은 ‘한국에서 상담을 전공하게 된 계기와 입학 전 느낀 복합적인 심경’, ‘학업과 수련과정에서 경험한 어려움’, ‘외국인 상담전공자로서 혜택을 경험함’, ‘수련경험의 의미: 어려움 속에서 스스로 또 같이 이겨내고 성장함’, ‘상담수련 및 법률적 제도 변화의 필요성을 인식함’이다. 이를 바탕으로 연구자는 구성요소와 하위 구성요소를 통합하여 재구성하였고 재한 중국인 상담전공자의 수련경험을 상황적 구조와 일반적 구조의 순으로 기술하였다. 본 연구의 결과를 바탕으로 시사점, 한계와 후속 연구에 대한 제언을 제시하였다.
The purpose of this study was to delve deeply into the experiences and meanings of experiences of Chinese counseling majors in Korea. The researchers recruited 4 Korean Chinese counseling majors and 7 other ethnic Chinese (non-Korean Chinese) counseling majors using the purposeful sampling method. They participated in an in-depth face-to-face interviews. Using Giorgi’s phenomenological research method, data analysis yielded 5 components, 15 categories, and 29 sub-categories. Five components included ‘Reasons for majoring in counseling in Korea and complex feelings about them’, ‘Difficulties experienced during studies and training process’, ‘Benefits as a foreigner counseling major’, ‘Meanings of training experience: overcoming and growing on their own and together in difficulty’, and ‘Recognizing the need for change in the counseling training and legal system’. Categories and sub-categories were integrated and reconstructed to create an essential structure of Chinese counseling majors’ experiences in Korea.
