Curriculum is essential for primary and secondary education. The development of the 2022 revised curriculum, which is Korea’s national level curriculum has been completed. Nevertheless, the library and information life, which are curriculums for information literacy instruction remain in the structure of the 2009 curriculum. In this study, I analyze the structure and contents of the curriculum for information utilization education in Pennsylvania, USA, identify trends in information literacy instruction, and present the direction of revision of library and information life. The Pennsylvania curriculum for information literacy instruction has an overall structure consisting of long-term transfer goals, big ideas(inquire, include, collaborate, curate, explore, engage), concepts, competencies, and essential questions. In addition, there is a detailed structure consisting of stage l(desired results), stage 2(assessment evidence of learning) and stage (learning plan).
This study aims to investigate the impact of job stress on the job satisfaction and life satisfaction of local government officials who participated in the reading academy from January 2023 to March 2023. The research involved collecting 300 questionnaires and conducting multiple regression analysis to analyze the obtained data. The results of the study are presented below. Impact of Job Stress on Job Satisfaction: The analysis revealed that among the sub-factors of job stress, inappropriate compensation significantly increases job stress among local government officials in the reading academy. Moreover, the study found that turnover intention was particularly high when compensation was not recognized as appropriate, indicating it as the most significant source of job stress. Impact of Job Stress on Life Satisfaction: The findings demonstrate that several factors negatively influence job stress, leading to reduced life satisfaction among local government officials in the reading academy. These factors include undesirable changes in working conditions or situations, anxiety about reorganization, inconsistent work orders, gender discrimination, and an authoritative organizational atmosphere. Effect of Job Satisfaction on Life Satisfaction: The analysis of the relationship between job satisfaction and life satisfaction indicated that turnover intention and remuneration level in job satisfaction positively influenced emotional satisfaction. Conversely, the job itself and interpersonal relationships had a significant negative effect on emotional satisfaction. Furthermore, the job itself and the level of remuneration in job satisfaction showed a significant positive effect on physical satisfaction. Similarly, the job itself and the level of remuneration in job satisfaction positively affected social satisfaction, while the intention to change jobs had a significant negative impact.
This study is to find a resource description methods applying RDA 2020 through comparing original RDA and RDA 2020, identifying the characteristics of RDA 2020, and describing practical resources focusing on manifestation applying the rules of RDA 2020. Several things should be considered for practical cataloging manifestation by RDA 2020. First, it is necessary to figure out which among the four recording methods are allowed by the elements of entities. Second, each library should develop its own application profile which specifies the elements be used for the resource description, supports the practical resource description, and makes effective resource description based on minimum description. Third, a template for encoding format could be created based on the application profile. This study will be able to provide practical help when cataloging librarians describe resources with applying RDA 2020.

The purpose of this study is to suggest a mid- to long-term expansion plan to resolve the blind spot and alleviate the imbalance of public library services in Daegu City. The research methods for this purpose included literature review, related laws and statistical data analysis, case study, and opinion survey. As a result, the first service area was set as a total of 14 areas based on administrative districts(Jung-gu, Seo-gu, Nam-gu, and Dalseong-gun each have one, Dong-gu and Buk-gu each have two, and Suseong-gu and Dalseo-gu have three each). Second, the expansion scenario for public libraries in Daegu City was proposed to add 26 libraries by the final target year (2032) based on the trend of national library growth over the past 13 years (2008-2020) and the forecast for the next 10 years (2023-2032). Third, the construction scenarios for each basic local government, excluding the Daegu representative library, are as follows: One library each in Jung-gu, Seo-gu, and Nam-gu; two libraries in Suseong-gu; three libraries in Dalseong-gun; four libraries in Dong-gu; and seven libraries each in Buk-gu and Dalseo-gu. In terms of floor area, it is proposed to add a total of 17 branch libraries with a minimum legal standard of 330-2,499㎡, four central libraries with 2,500-4,999㎡ each, and four central libraries with 5,000-9,999㎡ each. On the premise of these conditions, Daegu City and public libraries should focus on creating an inclusive and open community space, creating a digital platform, strengthening the library operation and cooperation system centered on Daegu representative library, developing collections and specializing services for local hub libraries, enhancing various knowledge information and program services, managing key library indicators and improving social contribution.
The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly changed the landscape of knowledge and information services that public libraries around the world have been providing since modern times. In particular, as social distancing has become routine, the contraction of cultural activities and the shift to online platforms have negatively impacted library visitation and use services, greatly reducing borrowing and reading, use of spaces and facilities, interlibrary loan services, program operations, and outreach services. Therefore, this study investigated and analyzed the current status of services provided by public libraries in Korea and abroad in response to COVID-19, and proposed practical ways to improve and expand services in response to COVID-19 based on the results of a survey of librarians’ perceptions. Specifically, these include improving the online reservation system for reading and borrowing services and developing and providing various outreach services, acquiring and expanding electronic resources, expanding online program services (reading, culture, lifelong learning, etc.), strengthening library services for vulnerable populations, providing information portal services related to new infectious diseases, strengthening facilities and space provision services, preparing infectious disease response guidelines, and providing education and training to strengthen librarians’ capabilities.

The purpose of this study is to confirm the effect of digital co-teaching between teachers online on improving students’ reading literacy. In order to achieve the purpose of the study, a pre-test was conducted on first-year high school students, and a post-test was conducted after conducting the co-teaching over two sessions. For statistical analysis, the data of 101 students with no missing values in pre- and post-tests were used. Through the OECD’s PISA reading literacy evaluation framework and factor analysis, a reading literacy test tool consisting of expression, comprehension, and information literacy was developed and the degree of change in reading literacy was measured through a self-report with the tool. As a result of the analysis, it was confirmed that the digital co-teaching had a statistically significant positive effect on the expression, comprehension and information literacy of high school students. This study is meaningful in that it shows that digital co-teaching can be applied as a way to improve reading literacy in PISA organized by the OECD.
The purpose of this study is to trigger a discussion on the educational gap between regions in school library resources. To this end, differences and correlations between other resources invested in the school library and output results were analyzed according to manpower allocation. There was a positive correlation between the number of books, the budget, the number of seats, the number of borrowed materials, and the number of students. It was analyzed that manpower allocation had a negative correlation with the number of subjects in which the ratio of students, the lowest grade in the achievement evaluation, was more than 1/2. As a result of examining the staffing according to the 「School Library Promotion Act」 by regional characteristics, it was found that the allocation rate was statistically significantly higher in the order of metropolitan area, and provincial unit. Depending on the regional characteristics, there were differences in net asset per household as well as differences in school library manpower assignment rates. In contrast, the large cities with relatively affluent school library manpower assignment rates were found to be higher. Therefore, based on the survey contents of this study, it was emphasized that the manpower stipulated in the 「School Library Promotion Act」 should be deployed as soon as possible even in relatively poor areas to bridge the educational gap between regions.

The purpose of this study is to introduce this language model in the era of generative AI such as ChatGPT, and to provide direction for data literacy education components in libraries using it. To this end, the following three research questions are proposed. First, the technical features of ChatGPT-like language models are examined, and then, it is argued that data literacy education is necessary for the proper and accurate use of information by users using a service platform based on generative AI technology. Finally, for library data literacy education in the ChatGPT era, it is proposed a data literacy education scheme including seven components such as data understanding, data generation, data collection, data verification, data management, data use and sharing, and data ethics. In conclusion, since generative AI technologies such as ChatGPT are expected to have a significant impact on users’ information utilization, libraries should think about the advantages, disadvantages, and problems of these technologies first, and use them as a basis for further improving library information services.
This study focuses on the impact of research data metadata quality evaluation index on the revitalization of K-BDS, a research data platform in the bio field, and examines the mediating effect of motivation factors for utilizing the platform. The investigation employs a structural equation model analysis and bootstrap analysis to explore the interrelationships among the three variables. The findings demonstrate that researchers who prioritize the quality of metadata display higher motivation to use the research data platform, leading to an intention to activate the platform. The study also confirms the mediating effect of motivation factors. Moreover, a comprehensive understanding of the sub-factors within each variable is attained through regression analysis and Sobel test. The results highlight that enhancing searchability is crucial to activate research data sharing in the bio field, while improving discoverability is vital for research data reuse. Interestingly, the study reveals that citationability does not significantly impact platform activation. As a conclusion, to foster platform activation, it is imperative to provide systematic support by enhancing metadata quality. This improvement can not only increase trust in the platform but also institutionally solidify the benefits of citation.
