본 연구의 목적은 고등학생의 부 및 모와의 심리적 독립과 진로결정수준 및 진로준비행동의 특성과 관계를 알아보는데 있다. 이러한 목적을 위해 본 연구에서 설정한 연구문제는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 고등학생의 심리적 독립, 진로결정수준, 진로준비행동은 각각 성별과 학년에 따라 어떠한 차이를 가지고 있는가? 둘째, 고등학생의 심리적 독립은 진로결정수준 및 진로준비행동과 어떠한 관계가 있는가? 이를 위해 경기도와 인천지역의 인문계 남녀고등학생 412명을 대상으로 심리적 독립검사, 진로 결정수준검사, 진로준비행동검사를 실시하였다. 본 연구의 주요결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 심리적 독립수준은 부․모와 관련하여 성별과 학년에 따라 유의한 차이가 있었다. 둘째, 진로결정수준과 진로준비행동수준은 성별과 학년에 따라 유의한 차이를 나타내지 않았다. 셋째, 심리적 독립수준 중 하위차원인 갈등적 독립은 진로결정수준과 유의한 정적상관을 나타내었다. 넷째, 심리적 독립수준과 진로준비행동수준은 부․모와 관련하여 성별과 학년에 따라 유의한 부적상관관계를 나타내고 있다. 이상의 결과를 통해 볼 때, 고등학생의 심리적 독립과 진로결정수준 및 진로준비행동은 하위차원별로 부․모와 관련하여 성별, 학년에 따라 다른 특성과 관계를 가지고 있으므로 진로상담이나 진로지도에서 이와 같은 변인들을 고려하여 차별적인 진단과 접근을 시도해야 함을 시사한다. 특히 진로미결정과 진로준비행동으로 어려움이 있는 고등학생은 부․모로부터의 심리적 독립을 고려해야함을 함의하고 있다.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the characteristics and relationships among psychological independence, career decision levels, and career preparation behavior in high school students. The main findings of this study were as follows. First, the level of psychological independence varied depending on the students' gender and grades. Second, career decision levels and career preparation behavior showed no significant difference by their gender and grades. Third, conflicting independence, a subscale of psychological independence, was positively correlated with the level of career decision. Finally, a significant negative correlation was found between the level of psychological independence and career preparation behavior. These results suggest that career counseling and guidance programs are called for to strengthen psychological independence for students who experience hardships with their career decision and career preparation behavior.
