부모 공감이 아동에게 미치는 영향에 관한 연구동향

Trends in Research on the Impacts of Parental Empathy on Children

초록

본 연구는 자녀 양육의 중요한 요인이라 볼 수 있는 부모의 공감에 관련된 국내 연구 논문 7편과 국외 연구 논문 29편을 개관하였다. 논문들은 연구 내용에 따라 1) 부모의 공감이 자녀에게 세대 전수 되는지 알아보는 연구, 2) 부모 공감이 아동의 발달에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구, 3) 부모의 공감 능력과 아동 학대와의 관련성 연구, 4) 공감 증진을 위한 부모 교육 프로그램 개발과 그 효과 검증을 다룬 연구로 분류되었고, 각 주제별로 국외 연구 논문, 국내 연구 논문의 순으로 그 내용을 요약, 정리하였다. 그리고 정리한 연구 결과들을 바탕으로 본 연구자가 생각한 문제점 즉, 같은 주제의 연구임에도 불구하고 척도에 따라 그 결과가 다르게 나타나는 이유, 국내의 부모 공감 연구의 부족, 부모 공감과 다른 양육 변인과의 관련성을 보는 연구의 필요성, 부모의 공감 증진을 위한 교육 프로그램의 개발과 효과 검증의 필요성 등에 대하여 논의하였다.

Abstract

This study reviews seven Korea's articles and twenty nine overseas' on parental empathy, an essential element in parenting. The articles are classified by subjects: 1) possibility of transmission of parents' empathy to their children 2) impact of parental empathy on child development 3) relationship between parents' empathy and child abuse 4) development of programs for enhancing parents' empathy and verification of effects of such programs. Each subject are summarized and arranged in overseas' followed by Korea's. On the basis of findings of these articles, this study discusses problems of measurement, lack of research in Korea, need for research on relation between parental empathy and other elements in parenting and need for development of programs for enhancing parents' empathy and verification of effectiveness.
