Model Equivalence in Covariance structure Modeling: JID Approach and its Application

공변량 구조분석은 1980년 이래로 사회과학 분야에서 사용하고 있는 가장 위력있는 자료 분석 방법 중의 하나이다. 그러나 모든 것이 완벽할 수는 없는 것처럼 공변량 구조분석도 역시 마찬가지다. 공변량 구조분석의 문제중 동치성 (model equivalence)에 대한 본격적 연구는 시작된 지가 오래되지 않았다. 등치모델들은 상이한 경로도형을 가지며 상이한 해석을 제공하지만 수학적으로는 구분할 길이 없다. 즉 자료분석의 결과만 가지고는 동치모델들을 구별할 수 있는 방법이 없다. 本 연구에서는, 주어진 모델에 대한 동치모델을 유도하는 JID 방식을 소개하고 있다. JID 방식에 의하면, 포화되는 (saturated, just-identified) 블록내에서는 포화가 유지되는 한 어떻게 모델을 수정해도 그 수정된 모델들은 원 모델에 대한 동치모델이 된다. 이 방식은 이른모델부분에 대해서는 Lee와 Hershberger (1990)가 제시한 대체법의 상당부분을 흡수포함하면서 한편 대체법이 설명할 수 없는 부분들, 즉 수정되는 블록내에서 쌍방적 모델이 되도록해도 동치모델이 유도될 수 있으며 측정모델부분에 대해서까지 동치모델을 유도할 수있는 장점이 있다.

Abstract

There are very few studies devoted to model equivalence in Covariance Structure Modeling. The present study introduces JID approach, in deriving equivalent models to a given model JID approach is based on the property of a just-identified block in a covariance structure model. As long as the just-identification is maintained in a block, the block can be modified in a number of ways to derive equivalent models. This is the logic of JID approach. The JID approach explains much of Lee and Hershberger's (1990) replacing rule and is applicable even to nonrecursive block and measurement model.
