The validation study of the Korean version of the Fear of Compassion Scales

초록

본 연구는 Gilbert, McEwan, Matos와 Rivis(2011)가 개발한 자비불안 척도들(the Fear of Compassion Scales)을 한국어로 번안한 후 한국판 자비불안 척도들(the Korean version of the Fear of Compassion Scales)의 신뢰도와 타당도를 검증하고자 하였다. (Fear of compassion for others) (Fear of compassion from others) (Fear of compassion for self)

Abstract

The present study investigated the reliability and validity of the Korean version of the Fear of Compassion Scales(K-FCS). The Fear of Compassion Scales are comprised of three scales: the fear of compassion for others scale, the fear of compassion from others scale, and the fear of compassion for self scale. The results of exploratory factor analyses and confirmatory factor analyses supported that the fear of compassion for others scale has two factors, and the fear of compassion from others scale and the fear of compassion for self scale have one factor, respectively. The internal consistency of the K-FCS was good. The K-FCS was positively related to anxious attachment, avoidant attachment, and self-criticism, and negatively related to self-compassion and importance. The fear of compassion from others scale and the fear of compassion for self scale were positively associated with empathic concern, as well.
