본 연구에서는 초기 성인의 우울과 자살사고 간의 관계에서 지각된 짐스러움, 좌절된 소속감의 매개효과 및 삶의 이유의 조절효과를 확인하였다. 이를 위해 19세~35세 초기 성인 331명을 대상으로 우울척도(K-CES-D), 대인관계 욕구 척도(INQ-R), 삶의 이유 척도(RFL), 자살사고 척도(SIQ)를 실시하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, SPSS 24.0을 사용하여 상관분석 한 결과 우울은 지각된 짐스러움, 좌절된 소속감, 자살사고와 정적 상관이 나타났고 삶의 이유는 우울, 자살사고와 부적 상관이 나타났다. 둘째, PROCESS macro를 통해 매개효과를 분석한 결과, 우울과 자살사고 간의 관계에서 지각된 짐스러움, 좌절된 소속감은 부분매개효과를 갖는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 우울과 자살사고의 관계에서 삶의 이유의 조절효과가 확인되었으며, 삶의 이유의 하위변인의 조절효과도 확인되었다. 결론적으로, 이러한 연구 결과는 초기 성인의 자살사고 문제를 효과적으로 상담하기 위해서는 지각된 짐스러움, 좌절된 소속감, 삶의 이유에 초점을 맞추어야 한다는 것을 시사한다. 마지막으로, 본 연구의 의의와 한계점 및 제언을 논의하였다.
The purpose of this study was to examine the mediating effects of perceived burdensomeness and thwarted belongingness as well as the moderating effect of reasons for living on the relationship between depression and suicidal ideation in young adults. For this study, 331 young adults completed a survey comprised of the following: K-CES-D, Interpersonal Needs Questionnaire Revised, Reasons for Living, and the Suicidal Ideation Questionnaire. SPSS PROCESS macro, bootstrapping method (based on the multiple linear regression model), and simple slope test were utilized for data analysis. Results of this study are summarized as follows. First, perceived burdensomeness and thwarted belongingness partly mediated the relationship between depression and suicidal ideation. Second, reasons for living significantly moderated the impact of depression on suicidal ideation. These results suggest that in order for counseling and intervention to be effective with young adults, clinicians should focus on perceived burdensomeness, thwarted belongingness, reasons for living, coping beliefs, family responsibility, and future expectations.
