The study explored the extent of the effect of content book trailer services among the specialized services of the library using the latest technology. The AIDMA&AISAS model was employed to measure the seven reactions of user behavior: Attention, Interest, Search, Desire, Memory, Action, and Share. A total of 287 responses were analyzed by conducting surveys with users who had experienced book trailer services at 13 public libraries located in Incheon. The study found that there were significant differences in user behavioral reactions in all of the content genre, including message, conflict, and character, and in particular, the character genre had the highest effects, followed by conflict and message genres. However, the post-hoc test indicated that there was no significant difference between the genres of conflict and character in terms of interest, search, and user satisfaction. The present study suggests theoretical implications by assessing and confirming the effects of book trailer services of the content genre on the reactions of user behavior compared with previous studies that measured the effects of the book trailer services of the form genre, and further practical implications for effective book trailer services.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the factors influencing the intention of revisiting and recommending by applying a structural equation model, targeting the service quality factors of university libraries derived from previous studies. For 11 days from April 30th, 2020 to May 10th, 2020, a total of 127 user groups (undergraduate students, graduate students, professors/instructors) were surveyed on their intention to revisit and recommend. The analysis results are as follows. ‘Materials’ and ‘service customization’ were shown as quality dimensions that influence revisit. In addition, revisiting was found to have an effect on recommendation intention, and it was analyzed that ‘materials’ and ‘service customization’ affect not only revisit but also recommendation intention. In addition, ‘service customization’ was found to be a factor that directly affects the intention to recommend. Based on this, a method of applying the concept of customization to library services and marketing was proposed in an environment where users’ needs are diversifying and becoming personalized.
Recently, many academic fields are developing metadata to manage data produced in the field. Metadata to support a specific academic field beyond the general field is considered essential for searching, managing, sharing, and reusing research data in the field. Therefore, in this study, metadata items were derived to manage research data produced in forestry engineering. In order to derive metadata items, mapping work was performed on 7 metadata such as FGDC-CSDGM, ISO 19115, NEFIS, INSPIRE, ANZLIC, DataCite 4.3, and TTA.KO-10.0976. As a result of this study, 6 mandatory, 13 recommendations and 9 optional elements were derived. The derived metadata can be used as an item to systematically manage research data in the field of forestry engineering.
This study aims at identifying the influence factors on public library patron numbers through a time-series analysis using the Korean National Libraries Statistical Data from 2014 to 2019. The facts found can be summarized as follows; First, the variables of books collection and periodicals appeared constantly to be unsignificant in the influence on public library patron numbers through the period from 2014 to 2019. This suggests that the internet may be substituting public libraries in the service of access to ordinary books and periodicals, which has been considered as a main function of public libraries. Second, such factors as cultural or books programs, library operation, user activities, and facilities turned out to be more significant and continual in the influence on public library patron numbers than the factor of books collection and storage. This means that public libraries have a complementary relation with the internet in these fields.

The importance of long-term preservation of various types of electronic records through dark archives is gradually increasing. However, the current dark archive does not have an optimized information package structure for long-term preservation of electronic records. In order to address these problems, this research proposed four element categories by re-organizing the OAIS reference model information package based on the core process of the dark archiving. The detailed descriptive items of each category consist of a total of 4 upper-level elements and 27 sub elements based on the OAIS reference model, ISO 23081, Records Management Metadata Standard, ISAD(G), ISAAR(CPF), ISDF, and ISDIAH. This structure can be used as a basis for constructing an information package optimized for dark archiving, and is expected to support the long-term preservation of electronic records more efficiently.
The purpose of the research is to evaluate the current online PR activities focused on the websites of university archives. To achieve the goal, the research developed the indicators to assess online PR activities by synthesizing both the factors derived from the basic components and concepts of PRs at university archives and the existing indexes for evaluating the online PRs of related cultural organizations such as libraries, museums, archives, and non-profit organizations. The research found that most university archives did not have promotional activities positively because there was lack of archival information services development. Even if there were some archival information services, they were not actively publicizing the facts. On the basis of the results, the research suggested the alternatives to improve online PR activities and follow-up research topics to supplement limitations of the research.
Mental health experts warn the combination of overwhelming amounts of information, economic instability, political discontent, social injustice, and the high infection and death rates of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic are negatively impacting mental health in ways that may worsen the pandemic and intensify our primal fear of death. Terror Management Theory (TMT) argues that self-esteem and cultural worldviews serve as defenses against the terror of our own mortality. This theory anchor paper introduces TMT to Library and Information Science (LIS) via a selected literature review on TMT’s use in the field of Psychology and an extensive discussion on the conceptual connections to LIS supported with empirical research from related disciplines and contexts. The implications, applications, and usefulness of TMT for LIS research, education, and practice are discussed in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic and other contexts, and a research agenda is proposed.
