The purpose of this study is to analyze the media of middle school social studies 1 textbooks with the information processing model and to suggest educational information services of teacher librarians under a collaborative Instruction. For this purpose, 1,089 inquiry tasks embedded in 8 types of textbooks for middle school social studies developed under the 2015 revised curriculum were analyzed. The media as an input element was analyzed by the type and the characteristic as a processing element was analyzed by the cognitive behavior types. And the aspect of the output factor of the media utilized the multiple intelligences. As a result of the analysis, the media in the inquiry task solving process mainly consisted of visual media based on photographs and illustrations and general reading materials. The processing method of media is understanding through analysis and inference through structuring. And the output utilized speaking and writing of the language intelligence. Based on the results, it is shown that educational information services that teacher librarians could provide for inquiry activities are composed of developing curriculum map, teaching inquiry processing and skills, and designing work sheets with graphic organizer and multiple intelligences under the information processing steps.
The free learning semester system focuses on the activation of career education of middle school students as an educational policy that links career recognition in elementary school, career search in middle school, and career planning in high school. This system was fully implemented in 2016 and public libraries also provided various programs. This study analyzed the free learning semester system programs of public libraries in Busan city and demonstrated the contribution of local development. As a result, career and job search, career exploration and experience, and information literacy enhancement programs contributed to local knowledge culture, reading culture, learning culture, living culture and leisure culture. However, contribution of reading exhibitions, job experience, information literacy enhancement to the leisure culture and local economy were limited. Therefore, it is desirable that all libraries should add programs related to knowledge ecosystem structure, digital information gap, human healing, social environment issues, future job prospects, and provide information literacy programs.
The curriculum in primary and secondary school is at the heart of the education. In education, a curriculum is broadly defined as the comprehensive plan consisting of educational goal and objectives, instructional content, materials, teaching and learning method. Many countries has national level curricula in primary and secondary education, such as the Korea. Korean national curriculum has been revised 10 times. Currently, ‘2015 revised curriculum’ is applied in korea. On the other hand, the Korean library association developed called a ‘Library and information life’ curriculum for information literacy instruction in 2007. However, this curriculum is based on the ‘2007 revised national curriculum’, so it differs from the system and contents structure of the ‘2015 revised national curriculum’. Since the primary and secondary school applying the ‘2015 revised national curriculum’, ‘Library and information life’ curriculum should be revised. Therefore, this study suggests the direction of revising the ‘Library and information life’ curriculum after comparing and analyzing ‘2015 revised curriculum’ and ‘Library and information life’ curriculum.
The purpose of this study is to discuss about the current status and problems of 24 public libraries in Daejeon metropolitan city and to suggest strategies for the development of public library system in Daejeon. For this purpose, first, this study investigates facilities, human resources, collection, and budget in public libraries in Daejeon metropolitan city and compares to the standards in 「The Third Comprehensive Library Advancement Plan(2019-2023)」, 「The library Act」 and 「Korean Library Standards」. Secondly, this study analyzes administrative organization system. Finally, suggested are both strategies and methods for continuous construction of new public libraries, librarian recruit, collection increase, better service for older adults, budget increase, organization exclusively responsible for library policy.
This study conducted a demand analysis for the operation and management of closed schools, the direction of future use of closed schools, and the utilization of closed schools, among local residents expected to play a key role in the successful use of closed libraries. According to the study, residents in areas where schools actually occur may actively consider the use of closed schools when they are lacking in the number of libraries in the region or when they hope to remodel their schools as libraries, given that they are positive about future use of closed schools and that remodeling them is more economical in terms of cost than building new libraries. The current awareness of the use and operation of closed schools remains at a normal level, so it is deemed necessary to improve the direction of the promotion, operation and recycling of closed schools in the order of promotion, operation and physical aspects by grouping obstacles to the operation and management of closed schools. In addition, the current status of cultural facilities and the demands of local residents are met in terms of the types of use of closed school facilities, and it means that closed schools can be used in a relatively easy-to-access location based on their location, while libraries can be used as a space for cultural facilities that are different from the existing public libraries, exhibition halls, and eco-friendly libraries.
The purpose of this study is to guide the design and operation of maker education programs in school library and to spread them by sharing the maker education program case. For this purpose, we explained the case of maker education of Daegu S high school library and analyzed its significance in terms of users in quantitative and qualitative way. In order to analyze the user’s perception of the image and self-efficacy of capacity building of school library maker education, we compared it with the perception of existing school library education programs. In addition, we analyzed whether there is a statistically significant difference in the perception of the maker education according to the grade of the student and the experience of the maker education. The perception of school library maker education was not more positive than the existing school library education program. However, it is noteworthy that students who experienced school library maker education showed a positive image and high level of perception of the self-efficacy of capacity building in both existing school library education and manufacturing education compared to those who did not. These results suggest that school library maker education can improve the overall image of school library education and raise perception of the self-efficacy of capacity building. We hope that this study will contribute to activate school library maker education.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the link between the School Library Development Plan and the Library Advancement Plan. And to find ways to strengthen the educational community cooperation. As a result of the research, we found 18 connections between the School Library Development Plan and the Library Advancement Plan. In particular, all types of libraries should participate in the Educational Community Cooperation. And emphasized that the school library should act as a gateway. In order to strengthen the cooperation of education community, the library specialization of each kind of library and the establishment of curriculum of school library were suggested.
The purpose of the study is to examine the trend in the change of relation between countries (Czech and Korea) through analysis of portal new articles. In order to achieve the purpose, we analyzed news articles about Czech from 1990 to March 31st, 2019. We divided it into 6 periods by every 5 years, reviewed 200 news articles for each period totaling 1,200 news articles, and categorized them into 4 categories by subject (politics, economy, society and culture, and educations). The result of the study showed the subject of society and culture represented the largest proportion of all news articles. We also found that the range of changes in the sub-categories of society and culture occurred most extensively. We concluded the paper with several suggestions that could promote cooperation between Korea and Czech.
In this paper, we propose optimal methodologies for classifying patent literature by examining various feature extraction methods, machine learning and deep learning models, and provide optimal performance through experiments. We compared the traditional BoW method and a distributed representation method (word embedding vector) as a feature extraction, and compared the morphological analysis and multi gram as the method of constructing the document collection. In addition, classification performance was verified using traditional machine learning model and deep learning model. Experimental results show that the best performance is achieved when we apply the deep learning model with distributed representation and morphological analysis based feature extraction. In Section, Class and Subclass classification experiments, We improved the performance by 5.71%, 18.84% and 21.53%, respectively, compared with traditional classification methods.
The Korea Institute of Civil Engineering and Building Technology provides the documents and information on the construction technology through the Construction Technology Digital Library System to enhance the technological competitiveness of the construction engineers. The purpose of this study is to measure the monetary value of information service quality in order to improve the documents and information service quality provided by this system. For this purpose, a questionnaire model was designed to apply the DBDC- CVM. We surveyed the members of 300 this systems for the amount of information that they are willing to pay to maximize the quality of information service. The correlation between the dependent variable and the explanatory variables was analyzed with the basic statistics of the survey results. The independent variables affecting the dependent variable are statistically significant. The logit model is used to estimate the monetary value of individual respondents who are willing to pay for information service quality. In previous research, we measured the use value of information service. On the other hand, this study shows that the measurement of value based on information service quality is different from previous research.
This research makes the metadata element design for Korean medicine research data management and re-use. Derived metadata elements are verified in research data of Korea Institute of Oriental Medicine. TTAK.K0-10.0976 Standard, DataCite metadata Schema and National Research Data Platform of KISTI were analyzed to derive the metadata elements. Including Identifier, 27 elements were derived as top-level elements with 29 mandatory elements, 13 recommended elements and 31 optional elements. The degree of elements’ necessity and new metadata elements were investigated and suggested in the survey by six domain experts in korean medicine field. In this study subject classification for the korean medicine research data are suggested. The final version of metadata schema was tested and verified by comparing with the legacy metadata fields. The research results can be used to describe the Korean medicine research data: items and files.
The purpose of this study is to propose a W3C standard, DCAT, to manage and service dataset that is becoming increasingly important as new knowledge information resources. To do this, we first analyzed the class and properties of the four core classes of DCAT. In addition, I modeled and presented a system that can manage and service various data sets based on DCAT in digital library. The system is divided into source data, data set management, linked data connection, and user service. Especially, the DCAT mapping function is suggested in dataset management. This feature can ensure interoperability of various datasets.
This study conducted analysis on forms and contents of Story of Insects (Gonchung Iyagi) and About Insects (Gonchung-gi), writings of biologist Jo Bok-seong published in 1948 to examine characteristics of two books and compare them. Story of Insects was made in the form of front cover-title page-foreword-table of contents-main text-copyright clause-advertisement-back cover, with the book size being A5 format. Contents of the book were divided into nine groups according to the characteristics of 65 species insects, to describe their characteristics. While, About Insects was made in the form of cover-title page-foreword-table of contents-main text-copyright clause-publication message of Eulyoo Mungo-advertisement-back cover, with the book size of A6 format. Contents of the book were divided into the author’s own 11 groups according to the characteristics of 56 species insects, to describe their characteristics. About Insects being Eulyoo Publishing Co. and Story of Insects being Association of Joseon Children’s Culture (abbreviated as Ahyeop) - sister company of Eulyoo Publishing Co. - but with the same basis.
This study was conducted with a view to investigating and analyzing classification and types of literature sources of Sikuquanshuzongmutiyao and the results of this study are as follows. First, the literature sources of Sikuquanshuzongmutiyao were classified mainly into five types including national version, provincial version, individual version, public official version, and societal distribution version. Second, court and Emperor’s version was classified as national version, while literatures collected from state and province were classified as provincial version. Third, each of individual version and public official version, which were not clearly differentiated from each other due to their being named private version, were distinctively and separately classified. They were classified into individual version if associated by province name and book owners’ names and into public official version if associated by public post names and public official’s name. Fourth, societal distribution version included distributed and purchased versions in the society of those days. Fifth, in terms of the number of literature listed in all descriptions of Sikuquanshu, provincial version, national version, individual version, public official version, and societal distribution version were more found in the descending order. Sixth, it was found out that causes are being a little more stressed in the description of reference names of Sikuquanshuzongmutiyao through 1) public post names on public official version, 2) company names on private version, and 3) names of societal distribution version instead of sales version.
