The Socialist narrative and the Feminine discourse in Colonial period

Abstract

This thesis reinvestgated the socialist narrative in colonial period in terms of feminism. The socialist narrative and the socialist realism in colonial period have been investigated in terms of socialist perspective. But those studies did not revealed the reason why the socialist realism did not mirror successfully the reality in colonial period. This thesis realveled that the socialist realism did not mirror successfully the reality on account of partriarchal socialist perspective. And we reaveled that woman writer's socialist realism in terms of feminine discourse, for she could revise the socialist perspective in terms of feminine discourse. We focused on Park Wha-Sung's construction of sewerage and Kang Kyung-Ae's Human Problem. These two novels revised the socialist perspective in terms of feminine discourse, and because of that they could draw sussessfully the reality in colonial period. This thesis also reinvestgated Kim Nam-Chun's novels of female viewpoint in terms of feminism, His novels revealed that female viewpoint could secure critical position in fascist period, Consequencely we could show that feminine discourse and female viewpoint could go byond partriarchal discouse and narrative.
