Abstract

This is the era of affects management in accordance with the needs of the capital and the state. To this end, affects have been treated and discussed as distinguishable from each other. Such epistemology has been formed in a “steady projects that assume the relationship between the mind and the world can be explored mathematically,” which is connected to the 'happiness industry' excessively pathologizing depression and worshipping happiness as the most powerful ideology in the service of the capital. In this paper, such a management process of affects is definedas enclosure of the affects. First, this is made possible from the imaginationof spatialization by building ‘fence’ among the affects, secondly, this process of ‘fencing’ is obviously capitalist and liberalist project, and thirdly, the effect is dismantling the ‘emotional commons’ between people. In addition, it has been one of the ‘new primitive accumulation’ methodologies to overcomethe crisis of the capitalism of the late 60’s. It seems to be around IMF(1997) that the latest new primitive accumulation has started in South Korea. To deal with the disgust, not being entrapped by the enclosure of affects, we need to understand disgust as the affiliation of various affects. For example, disgust gets nourishment from the culture of contempt and continues its effects in the form of fun forcing shame to others when the pleasure has become the most important mission to accomplish. Only when we approach to the disgust as a whole, we can avoid serving the affects management of our days.
