The drastically changing society has brought diverse types of families, and these diversities are changing the concept of the word 'family' itself. Inevitably, these changes cause different viewpoints among family members, developing into conflicts and social issues. In this paper, generational family problems, which are caused by changes within the family as a result of the variously, diversely changing society, are observed to suggest a resolution. Looking into the functional variety that today's structural change within a family demands, several positives changes described below have been observed; Firstly, the change in the way of interaction among family members; Secondly, the demand for continuance on relational functions including love, care, etc, as a psychological resource of family; Thirdly, the conversion from form's sake relationship to actual relationship; and Lastly, the usage of a clearer communications network. The interaction between the parent-children relationship, according to the changes in family life cycle, is also re-focused to seek resolutions for intergenerational conflicts. The results are as follows; Firstly, the changeability of various family types today must be accepted, and the functional aspects of changing families must be emphasized ; Secondly, the mutual-exchanging value of each generation must be accepted, strengthening relational functions between generations; Thirdly, it is necessary to refocus filial piety. In other words, though the intergenerational transmission of family functions may become the basis of lineage and clan formation, it won't be possible without interaction between generation.
Criminology is not a science yet in the sense that the word is used to describe the hard science. It is due to the fact that sociologists have dominated in the study of crime and criminals. Thus, future criminological studies should adopt an interdisciplinary approach including such disciplines as biology, psychology, sociology, and so on. The interdisciplinary approach needs to pursue a general theory by systematizing the achievements from various disciplines in the explanation of criminal behavior. The current study also discussed several issues which are conducive to the scientific study of criminal behavior.
This literature review introduced the concept of psychopathy which has never been defined academically in Korea. Also it is reviewed how this concept could be applied as latent factor of criminal behavior in the forensic settings. For this purpose, first of all, the periodical change of psychopathy definition was explored. Then it was investigated which determinants might develop psychopathy and what would be the behavioral characteristics of psychopaths. Finally, risk assessment tools measuring psychopathy were introduced and their predictive efficacy and applicability in Korean criminal justice system was discussed.
This study is performed to understand and resolve psychologically the issue of North Korea-South Korea's cultural heterogeneity which is treated importantly in unification debates. We collected data from 181 North Korea Defectors through survey, and found out that the North Korea Defectors perceived cultural heterogeneity so much especially at the early settlement stage. However, this fact itself didn't give a serious suggestion, What is significant was how much South Korean cultural orientation they had as a coping strategy. When they coped with South Korean cultural orientation, they showed high level of self-efficacy, and furthermore they demonstrated high level of psychological adaptation. By the way, this psychological adaptation level was not significantly correlated with positive index such as life satisfaction, but correlated with negative index such as depression. That is, low self-efficacy group showed high level of depression and 43% of them could be classified as a depression-symptom group. Thus, we can conclude that it is rather helpful for the North Korean Defectors to have South Korean cultural orientation for overcoming North Korea-South Korea's cultural heterogeneity, and coping strategy is more important than cultural heterogeneity itself.
