To inspect this study, first, by using a list of questions, measured them, which are Chemyon(Social face) sensitivity, social anxiety and self-esteem. Second, by making uncertainty conditions experimentally, measured uncertainty avoidance. As a result of analyzing into multiple regression analysis, the finding could catch the point that Chemyon(Social face) sensitivity and social anxiety are primary factors to expect uncertainty avoidance but self-esteem is not. These research results show current events. This study find more explicit psychological factors of Hofstede's uncertainty avoidance than before. The purpose of the present study was to explore personality, emotional characteristics, and subjective well-being of individuals who are overwhelmed with their emotions. In the first study, four groups were divided according to the distribution of average scores in emotional clarity and emotional intensity. Each group was named “hot,” “overwhelmed,” “cerebral,” and “cool.” Various personality and emotional characteristics of “overwhelmed” people who had high emotional intensity and low emotional clarity were compared to those of “hot” people who had high emotional intensity and high emotional clarity. The results showed that the “overwhelmed” people were neurotic, ambivalent about emotional expressions, and had difficulty in regulating their emotions actively. They were also low in both self-esteem and psychological well-being compared to the “hot” people. In the second study utilizing emotional diaries it was found that the “overwhelmed” people simultaneously experienced diverse negative emotions without focusing on the single negative emotion appropriate to the emotion inducing stimulus. In the third study utilizing emotion induction scenarios the “overwhelmed” people regulated their emotions through the avoidance strategy when they were sad or fearful, while they actively regulated the emotions when they were angry. The efficacy belief was highest when the “overwhelmed” people regulated their emotions through the social support strategy regardless of the kind of the negative emotions. Also, the degree of the inconsistency between the emotion regulation strategy used and the strategy that they thought would be effective in the real situation was greater for the “overwhelmed” people compared to the “hot” people.
This study aimed to measure the relationship between blood types(A, B, O, AB) and love styles, and the association between blood types and love attitudes. Lee's “Love Style Scale” developed by Hendrick & Hendrick(1986), and Me as a Love Partner Scale(MALPS), which measures love partners' attitudes, were administered to 496 subjects. Consistent with past researches related to the association between blood types and personality(Big 5), no meaningful relationship emerged between love styles and blood types, nor between love attitudes and blood types as well. Pseudo-scientific personality typology based on blood types was proved to be invalid to account for the differences among people's love styles or love attitudes. But gender and experience of love relationships can moderate the differences in love attitudes and love styles among blood types. And the possible reasons why people hold the beliefs about the association blood types and personal traits were discussed.
