In this research, we have developed a word tool for interpersonal relationships, and by looking at the basic categories of interpersonal relationships, we have explored what the constituent dimensions are. Twenty adults in their 20s, 30s, 40s and 50s were asked to categorize interpersonal words into similar meanings. Then, based on the results, the dimensions inherent in words are clarified. According to the analysis, two dimensions were derived from all ages, and relationships between people in their 20s were named ‘friendship-coldhearted’ and ‘horizontal-vertical’. Those in their 30s named themselves ‘friendly-cold hearted’. ‘soft-hearted’, and those in their 40s and 50s named them ‘friendly-coldhearted’, and ‘cooperative-social’. If the tools and results of this study are used as basic materials for improving interpersonal skills, we can understand how people react to interpersonal words through various empirical studies and distin-depth and correct understanding of interpersonal relationships can be achieved.
