애정관계에서 낙관성이 관계만족에 미치는 영향：긍정적 평가의 매개효과

초록

본 연구는 부부와 연인을 대상으로 낙관성이 자신과 상대방의 관계만족에 미치는 영향을 자기-상대방 상호의존성 모델(Actor-Partner Interdependence Model; Kenny, 1996)을 통해 확인하고, 이 과정에서 상대방에 대한 긍정적 평가의 매개효과를 검증하기 위해 수행되었다. 연인 100쌍과 부부 103쌍을 대상으로 설문조사하였으며, 측정도구로는 생활지향검사개정판(LOT-R)과 배우자평정척도, 결혼만족척도(MSS)가 사용되었다. 본 연구의 주요결과는, 첫째, 낙관성이 관계만족에 미치는 역할을 구조방정식 모형을 통해 분석한 결과, 낙관성은 관계만족에 자기효과와 상대방효과를 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 낙관적인 개인은 자신의 애정관계에 대해 높은 관계만족을 보일 뿐 아니라, 낙관적인 개인의 상대 역시 높은 관계만족을 보고하였다. 둘째, 상대에 대한 긍정적 평가가 낙관성과 관계 만족 사이에서 매개 역할을 하는지를 구조방정식 모형의 부츠트랩 검증을 통해 살펴본 결과, 남자의 경우 부분 매개된 자기효과와 상대방 효과를 보였고, 여자의 경우 부분 매개된 자기효과만을 보였다. 즉, 낙관적인 남자는 자신의 상대를 긍정적으로 평가하고, 그러한 긍정적 평가는 자신의 관계만족 뿐 아니라 상대의 관계만족 역시 높게 예측하였다. 하지만 낙관적인 여자는 자신의 상대를 긍정적으로 평가하여 자신의 관계만족은 높을 수 있으나, 그것이 상대의 만족까지 높게 예측하지는 않았다.

Abstract

The present study examines how optimism effects the level of satisfaction in a romantic relationship by importing an positive evaluation about the partner as a mediator, and confirming the results through the APIM (Actor-Partner Interdependence Model). The outcome of this study can be boiled down into two major points：First, by verifying how optimism effects the level of satisfaction in a relationship, it was proven that optimism has an effect on actor effect and partner effect. Second, when a positive evaluation about the partner was employed as a mediator, the final model showed that males generally demonstrated actor effect and partner effect, whereas females only demonstrated a progress of actor effect.
